Lake remediation

EMF Device

Designed for effective lake remediation to address water quality issues such as high nutrient input, algal blooms, high pH, and nightly hypoxia. The EMF Device can help restore the ecological balance of a waterbody by enhancing CO2 transfer during the day to mitigate alkalinity, enhancing O2 transfer during the night to mitigate hypoxia and maintaining higher ORP. Additionally,

Proven Value

  • Improved Water Quality: Enhances - and sustains - aerobic conditions, along with reducing viscosity/surface tension, to treat high BOD/COD, promote nutrient conversion, and reduce turbidity
  • Cyanobacterial suppression: Shift the ammonia-nitrate chemical equilibrium towards nitrate and render the cyanobacteria less competitive against diatoms and green algae. Additionally, promote the formation of complex precipitates between the phosphates and available metal ions in the oxic sediment layer, reducing phosphorus bioavailability.
  • pH Stabilisation: Enhanced flux of CO2 during the day improves treatment efficiency by reducing the need for chemical correction.
  • Odour Control: suppresses odours caused by sulfides.

Sewage Lagoons

EMF Device

Sewage lagoons are essential for wastewater treatment, but over time, can face serious challenges, llike: excessive odour, sludge build-up, reduced retention time, and compliance risks. EMF Devices enhance the rate of gas transfer and offer a cost-effective 24/7 oxygenation solution alternative to mechanical aeration, dredging, or chemical additives. Devices are completely solar-powered and easy to maintain.

Proven Value

  • Sludge Digestion: shifts from anaerobic to aerobic conditions allows for continual digestion in situ, and legacy sludge, removing major opex/capex associated costs.
  • Improved Water Quality: Reduction in BOD/COD, high nutrients, E. coli, etc. to help meet discharge compliance.
  • Odour Suppression: odours caused by sulphates
  • Increased treatment capacity: Increased processing capacity since continuous aeration (24/7 basis) results in continual organic sludge digestion. The processing capacity can be increased without major CAPEX/OPEX investments.

Whether you manage a municipal lagoon, industrial treatment site, or agricultural wastewater system, we tailor our solution to fit your lagoon’s unique characteristics, including its capacity, loading rate, climate, and existing challenges. Our experienced team ensures smooth implementation, backed by ongoing performance monitoring and support.

Floating Solar Farms

EMF Device

Floating solar installations depend on regulatory approval and environmental stewardship, particularly over open waterbodies. Maintaining water quality during the life of the project—and restoring the waterbody to its original state afterward—is often a challenge for energy developers. Sites may also face elevated maintenance costs due to corrosion, driven by imbalanced pH levels or cyanobacteria blooms that threaten equipment, worker safety, and community health.

Proven Benefits

  • Improve Water Quality: Enhances and stabilizes aerobic conditions to prevent stratification, reduce turbidity, and suppress cyanobacteria blooms.
  • pH Management: Helps maintain balanced pH levels to reduce corrosion risk and protect infrastructure.
  • Odour & Algae Control: Suppresses odours and bloom formation caused by excess nutrients and sulfides, supporting healthier water ecosystems.

Water Intakes

EMF Device

Raw water reservoirs and intakes are critical for drinking water supply. They often face persistent challenges, including turbidity, algae blooms, odour, pH fluctuations, and high OPEX associated with chemical treatment and filtration maintenance. The EMF Device’s ability to re-equilibrate the waterbody helps reduce viscosity and surface tension, facilitating accelerated gas transfer into the water column. The EMF Device provides a solar-powered, low-maintenance alternative to chemical treatments, mechanical mixers, or costly dredging operations.

Proven Value

  • Improved Water Quality: Enhances – and sustains – aerobic conditions, along with reducing viscosity/surface tension, to treat high BOD/COD, promote nutrient conversion, reduce turbidity, and mitigate cyanobacteria blooms.
  • pH Stabilisation: Enhanced flux of CO2 during the day improves treatment efficiency by reducing the need for chemical correction.
  • Reduced Operational Costs: lowers chemical demand and filter maintenance frequency.
  • Odour Control: suppresses odours caused by sulfides.

Whether you manage a drinking water reservoir, raw water intake, or surface source feeding a treatment facility, we tailor our system design and support to your site’s specific profile—volume, depth, water quality, and seasonal challenges. Our expert team ensures smooth deployment and long-term performance through continuous monitoring and support.

Mining / Tailing ponds

EMF Device

Water is an essential part of mining operations. Effective management of water budgets and water quality is essential to proper operations and if mismanaged can lead to increased risk of dam breaching and improper discharge of water. The EMF Device can help manage water quality and volume (net positive or net negative) more efficiently, supporting faster, more cost-effective operations. Its durable, energy-efficient design is built for the demanding conditions of mining sites, offering a reliable, low-maintenance solution that helps operators manage water resources while minimising environmental impact.

Proven Value

  • Increase Evaporation: Naturally accelerate evaporation between 20-50% to enhance water management in TSF. Accelerate decommissioning of end-of-life TSFs
  • Reuse + Reclamation: Launching Soon
  • Improve Water Quality: Enhances - and sustains - aerobic conditions, along with reducing viscosity/surface tension, to treat high BOD/COD, promote nutrient conversion, reduce turbidity
  • Methane (GHG) Emissions: Reduce methane emissions by upto 30%
  • Odour Control: suppresses odours caused by sulfides.

GHG

GHG

Methane (CH4) is one of the most important greenhouse gases in terms of human impacts on climate forcing. The contribution of CH4 to climate forcing is ~ 28x greater than that of CO2 on a per gram C basis and methane contributes ~ 23% of total climate forcing. Reducing methane emissions can, therefore, be an effective strategy in mitigating climate change. A hidden source of methane are freshwater bodies like sewage lagoons, recreational lakes, deepwater reservoirs/stormwater ponds, mining tailings ponds, and oil and gas tailings ponds.

The EMF Device can enhance the rate of gas transfer and offer a cost-effective 24/7 oxygenation solution. This can have important implications for methane emissions, where EMF Devices support higher dissolved oxygen concentrations and higher levels of aerobic metabolism, including methanotrophy, and suppress anaerobic metabolism, including methanogenesis.
